How it works

  1. Pick your symptoms

Start from a list made for your condition, then add your own words.

  2. Say what helps

Two or three specific things are easier for people to act on than "be understanding".

  3. Share the card and link

Send the image anywhere, and the link for anyone who wants to learn more.

Why a card works better than another explanation

Explaining an invisible illness over and over is tiring, and it is hard to get the words right when you are already unwell. A short card says it once, the way you want it said. People can keep it, re-read it and share it with others who need to know.

What to put on your card

  • How it feels, not just the diagnosis. "Dizzy when I stand" tells people more than a name they have never heard of.
  • Specific help. "Text instead of calling on bad days" is easy to do. "Be supportive" is not.
  • What hurts. Many people don't realise that "you don't look sick" stings.

Frequently asked questions

Keep it short and concrete: what it is in one sentence, how it can feel on a bad day, and two or three specific things that help. This tool turns those into a card you can send, so you don't have to explain it all again each time.
Your card is made in your browser. It is only saved if you choose "Create my share link", and the link has no name, email or account attached. You can delete a link from the same device at any time.
The link opens your card plus a short, plain-language explanation of the condition and a few things people often don't know about it, with a link to a full guide. It is a gentle way for someone to learn more.
Yes. Choose "My boss or coworkers" or "Teachers or school" and the wording changes to focus on what helps you work or study. If you need formal adjustments, try our accommodation letter generator.
Choose "Something else" and type its name, or write "my chronic illness" if you'd rather not say. You can add your own symptoms and needs in your own words.
No. The card is in your own words and the condition explanations are general information. Talk to your clinician about your own health.
